The Grand Ducal Police have reported that on Tuesday 3 March 2026, a drink-driver was placed in detention and their driving licence revoked following a collision in Frisange.

According to the initial information, the police were informed of a vehicle on Robert Schuman Street in Frisange that had collided with a post.

A police patrol was able to locate the driver shortly afterwards at his home address. He showed clear signs of alcohol consumption and officers subsequently administered a breath test, which returned a positive result. His driving licence was immediately confiscated.

He was then taken to hospital for a blood test, where he behaved uncooperatively towards both the staff and the officers. Due to his intoxicated state and because he posed a danger to himself and others, he was, following a medical examination, placed in detention to sober up.
