The Grand Ducal Police have reported the use of a Taser during an intervention linked to a family dispute in Dudelange.
On the evening of Saturday 28 February 2026, police were alerted to a man who had damaged a glass door of an apartment during a domestic altercation. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the man on the apartment’s terrace holding a shard of glass and threatening to harm himself.
According to the police, the man did not comply with officers’ instructions to drop the object. Reinforcements from the Operational Support Group (Groupe de support opérationnel) were requested, but attempts to persuade him to cooperate were unsuccessful.
As the man continued to threaten self-harm and indicated that he intended to return inside the apartment where another person was present, officers deployed a Taser after issuing repeated warnings.
The man was subsequently immobilised and the glass shard secured. He was later transported to hospital.
