The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they issued a provisional driving ban following a traffic accident involving an intoxicated driver on Saturday 28 February 2026.
At around 04:00, police were alerted to a single-vehicle accident at the Rippweiler-Barrière roundabout. Police initially found only the damaged car at the scene.
Some time later, they identified the driver, who had returned to the scene, where she admitted to having caused the accident. She stated that she had lost control of her vehicle and collided with a traffic sign.
Police determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. In addition, a cannabis test came back positive. Blood and urine samples were subsequently taken at hospital.
The woman received a provisional driving ban.
