On Tuesday 18 November 2025, POST Luxembourg announced the opening of its annual Kleeschen Secretariat as the festive season approaches.

Founded in 1842, POST Luxembourg has been a long-standing partner of Saint Nicholas and once again opened the Kleeschen Secretariat to handle children’s letters in the run-up to the end-of-year celebrations.

The postal address for letters to Kleeschen is: Kleeschen, 1 Spillstrooss, L-3290 Am Himmelsland.

Before forwarding the letters to Saint Nicholas, POST Luxembourg sends a reply accompanied by a small playful surprise to each sender. To receive an answer, it is essential that children (or parents) correctly indicate the sender’s address.

Letters addressed to Kleeschen can be posted, without postage stamp, in all POST yellow letter boxes across the country. POST also provides a printed greeting letter template available in its retail network, which can also be downloaded from www.post4kids.lu.

According to POST Luxembourg, employees ensure that even letters with incomplete or imprecise address details still reach the Kleeschen Secretariat. Members of the POST Luxembourg Amicale also assist in preparing the replies, contributing to the smooth running of this longstanding tradition.

In addition to the national Kleeschen postal service, children in Luxembourg’s international community or those wishing to write their festive letters in English, will once again be able to use the Santa Post Box at Home from Home, the expat shop located at 148 Route d’Arlon, L-8010 Strassen. According to the shop, the Santa Post Box is expected to be installed and available for use towards the end of November. Further details will be confirmed once the installation date is finalised.

In 2024, the Kleeschen Secretariat at POST Luxembourg prepared more than 5,650 reply letters.
