The Grand Ducal Police have reported two arrests on Wednesday 12 November 2025, in connection with separate incidents in Diekirch and Luxembourg-Gasperich.
On Wednesday afternoon, as part of the “Wanterzäit” traffic control campaign on Route d’Ettelbruck in Diekirch, a vehicle drove directly towards a police patrol at high speed despite clear signals instructing the driver to enter the checkpoint. According to the initial report, the officers had to jump aside to avoid being hit. The vehicle was stopped shortly afterwards following a brief pursuit. Checks revealed that the driver was subject to a driving ban. At the instruction of the public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Thursday 13 November 2025.
Another incident was reported the same evening at a shopping centre on Boulevard Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen in Luxembourg-Gasperich, where two individuals allegedly stole clothing and other items. According to the police, a patrol quickly located the suspects, and the stolen goods found in their vehicle were secured and returned to the shop. The vehicle and cash were seized, and the public prosecutor’s office ordered the arrest of one of the suspects.
