The Grand Ducal Police have reported that an accident involving an electric scooter occurred in Diekirch on Tuesday 11 November 2025.
At approximately 14:30 on Tuesday, the police were notified of an accident on Route d’Ettelbruck in Diekirch. According to initial reports, an individual fell off his electric scooter on the footpath. The rider was injured and, after receiving initial treatment at the scene, was taken to hospital.
A police patrol later located the individual, who showed "clear signs of alcohol consumption", as confirmed by a positive breathalyser test.
An inspection of the electric scooter also revealed that it had exceeded the permitted maximum speed (approximately 40 km/h instead of 25 km/h). The public prosecutor's office ordered the electric scooter to be confiscated, and a provisional driving ban was issued.
