The Grand Ducal Police have reported that several driving bans were issued on Sunday 2 November 2025, in relation to four incidents of drink driving.
According to the police, on the evening of Sunday 2 November, the police received a report of a vehicle driving erratically through Schieren. A police patrol located the driver shortly afterwards. Officers performed a breathalyser test which returned a positive result and a provisional driving ban was issued.
On the same evening, a visibly intoxicated driver was reported on Rue Ermesinde in Echternach. A police patrol located the man shortly afterwards. His breathalyser test was also positive and a provisional driving ban was issued.
Later that same evening, a driver in Strassen was reported to have driven over a traffic island and damaged a traffic sign. A police patrol located the driver shortly afterwards. His breathalyser test was positive and a provisional driving ban was issued.
Moreover, at around 23:20, the police were informed of a crashed vehicle on the N5 between Dippach and Bertrange. According to initial information, the vehicle veered into the opposite lane before colliding with a tree. A police patrol was immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries in the accident. A breathalyser test returned a positive result and the driver’s licence was confiscated. An accident report was drawn up by police officers.
