The Grand Ducal Police have confirmed that they arrested a man following a stabbing in Cessange.

The incident happened on Saturday 1 November 2025, in the morning. The police confirmed that they received a report of a person with a stab wound in Cessange. 

The victim suffered an injury that was described as serious but not life-threatening. He was taken to hospital. 

At the request of the public prosecutor's office, the criminal investigation department's forensic team attended the scene. Based on the victim's statement, a search was launched for the suspected perpetrator. He was located shortly afterward and taken to the police station. 

The public prosecutor's office ordered the suspect's arrest. He was brought before a judge on Sunday morning.

Further Arrest

Around midnight on Saturday 1 November 2025, police received a report of an altercation at a bar in Luxembourg city. According to witnesses, two men threw glass bottles at security staff. One of the security guards then pursued the two men but was injured on the hand by one of them with a knife. 

It transpired that, shortly beforehand, the man had also injured another person in the face with the knife. 

The suspected perpetrator was located by police shortly afterward and arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office. He is to be brought before a judge on Sunday afternoon. 

The second man was also apprehended by police a short time later. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
