New Affordable Housing Residence in Hagen, Steinfort; Credit: Municipality of Steinfort

On Thursday 30 October 2025, the municipality of Steinfort announced the official inauguration of a new affordable housing residence in Hagen.

The inauguration, which took place on Thursday 23 October, took place in the presence of Claude Meisch, Luxembourg's Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning, members of the Steinfort municipal council and the project’s partners.

As part of its social policy, the municipality of Steinfort continues to invest in its social housing stock, to promote access to affordable housing and improve residents’ quality of life.

Composed of the villages of Steinfort, Kleinbettingen, Hagen and Grass, the municipality has become one of the most modern living and working centres in the west of the Grand Duchy. Covering an area of 12.2 km², it is home to more than 6,000 residents representing around 90 nationalities.

Steinfort offers a wide range of leisure activities, shops, associations and cultural events, as well as numerous hiking and cycling trails connecting the area with Luxembourg City and the Belgian border. Located in the canton of Capellen, the municipality is also committed to environmental quality to ensure the health, well-being and quality of life of its residents.
