On Tuesday 28 October 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that following a reported brawl in Echternach on Monday 27 October, a man was detained after verbally abusing officers.
According to the initial report, late in the evening of Monday 27 October, the police were informed of a fight involving several individuals in a premises on Rue de la Gare in Echternach. Several police patrols attended the scene, by which time the situation had already calmed.
When the on-duty officers arrived, one of the men became increasingly uncooperative and provocative, verbally abusing the officers. Due to his intoxicated state, officers deemed that he posed a danger to himself and others and was placed in the detention area following a medical examination.
