The Grand Ducal Police have reported three separate incidents resulting in arrests in Luxembourg over the weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October 2025.
On Saturday afternoon 25 October 2025, police were called to the Rue de Bonnevoie in Luxembourg City’s railway district following a reported altercation between two men. According to initial information, the dispute began when the suspect allegedly knocked over the victim’s bicycle and became violent when confronted. The altercation escalated into a robbery involving the use of force. The suspect was later located during a police search, and the stolen items were recovered during a body search. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge.
Later that evening, Belgian police informed their Luxembourg counterparts that a man had allegedly abducted his ex-partner and child and was travelling from Belgium towards Germany. A Luxembourg police patrol located and stopped the vehicle in Martelange. The suspect was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and was to appear before an investigating judge on Sunday afternoon 26 October 2025.
In a separate incident, shortly before 04:00 on Sunday 26 October, a theft was reported at a restaurant in Grevenmacher. According to initial information, two suspects reportedly entered the premises and stole several bottles of alcohol and food items before being surprised by a witness. Police officers arriving at the scene detained the suspects, confiscated the stolen goods and returned them to the owner. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, both suspects were arrested and brought before an investigating judge. The Grand Ducal Police added that investigations are ongoing.
