The Grand Ducal Police have reported that they recently teamed up with French police officers to conduct joint checks on cross-border rail transport.
On Wednesday 22 October 2025, the Grand Ducal Police, together with the international transport control brigade of Metz (Brigade de Contrôle des Transports Internationaux de Metz), carried out joint police checks on cross-border trains between Luxembourg and France.
The focus was on drug and immigration legislation, as well as having a general police presence on cross-border public transport.
Of the 42 people checked, twelve were found to be illegally residing in France.
