On Thursday 23 October 2025, the Grand Ducal Police reported that in the early hours of Wednesday 22 October a man was arrested following an attempted break-in in Vianden.
According to the initial report, early on Wednesday morning the police received a report of a man on Rue du Vieux Marché in Vianden who allegedly attempted to break into a building and became physically aggressive towards a witness who tried to prevent him gaining access.
The suspect fled the scene but during a subsequent search was apprehended by officers. Due to his intoxicated state and the fact that he posed a danger to himself and others, the officers decided to take the man into custody but reported that the suspect became uncooperative.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office was informed and ordered the arrest of the suspect, who was brought before an examining magistrate in the afternoon of Wednesday 22 October 2025.
