The Grand Ducal Police reported on Wednesday 22 October 2025, a man was arrested in Esch-Belval after attempting to purchase several items with multiple bank cards.
According to the initial information, on the evening of Tuesday 21 October, police were alerted after a man attempted to purchase several items using multiple cards in a store on Avenue du Rock’N‘Roll in Esch-Belval. A police patrol was able to locate the suspect at the scene and checks revealed that the bank cards were stolen.
Further investigations established that the cards were linked to a theft from a vehicle, as well as a fraud scheme in which individuals posing as bank employees collected bank cards from one of the victims under false pretences.
Acting on instructions from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was arrested and brought before an examining magistrate.
