The Grand Ducal Police have reported multiple arrests in connection with recent cases of death threats, drug dealing and vehicle thefts.

Late in the afternoon of Monday 13 October 2025, police in Esch-sur-Alzette received a report that a man had received death threats from someone he knew. Further investigations revealed that the suspect had made similar threats against other individuals. Officers located the man shortly afterwards and arrested him on the orders of the public prosecutor. The following morning, the suspect was brought before an investigating judge, who ordered his pre-trial detention.

During the night of Tuesday 14 October 2025, a police patrol stopped a man near Rue du Fort Bourbon in the capital's train station district (Luxembourg-Gare). Upon seeing the officers, he attempted to leave the scene. When stopped, he made suspicious mouth movements. As officers suspected he might have swallowed drugs, he was subjected to a scanner examination, which confirmed their suspicions. Officers also seized a mobile phone and cash during the search. By order of the public prosecutor's office, the man was arrested and brought before an investigating judge later on Tuesday morning.

The police also reported that Luxembourg has recently been confronted with a professionally organised, internationally active criminal group specialising in the theft of SUVs. Through a comprehensive analysis and close cooperation with foreign investigative authorities, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department's grand banditry repression unit succeeded in identifying the suspected perpetrators.

Targeted operational measures involving both the Luxembourg public prosecutor's office and the police's special unit led to the seizure of two stolen vehicles in France: a Porsche Macan and a Toyota RAV4.

On the night of 13 to 14 October, two suspects were arrested in Luxembourg. During subsequent searches, investigators seized several pre-fabricated licence plates and electronic devices allegedly used in the vehicle thefts.
