The Grand Ducal Police have reported several thefts of necklaces in recent days, notably in the capital's train station district.

On the evening of Saturday 11 October 2025, the police were notified to a theft on Rue du Fort Elisabeth in Luxembourg-Gare, where two perpetrators stole necklaces from their victim before fleeing the scene. Later that night, a police patrol found two people matching the perpetrators' description. They were arrested and taken to the police station. A necklace was found and confiscated from one of the suspects. An investigation also linked him to another theft. By order of the public prosecutor's office, he was arrested and taken to the Uerschterhaff prison in Sanem.

That same evening, another theft was reported on Rue Joseph Junk in Luxembourg-Gare. According to initial information, a man approached a woman, pointed at the ground, said she had lost something and ripped the necklace from her neck as she leaned forward. The victim was not injured in the incident. A manhunt was immediately initiated and officers apprehended the suspect shortly thereafter. He was arrested by order of the public prosecutor's office and brought before an investigating judge on the morning of Sunday 12 October 2025.
