The Grand Ducal Police have announced they conducted large-scale alcohol level checks during the night of Wednesday 8 and the morning of Thursday 9 October 2025, in Kayl and Soleuvre.

The operation took place at the request of the Public Prosecutor, in accordance with Article 12, paragraph 3, subparagraph 8 of the amended law of 14 February 1955 on traffic regulations on public roads.

The police reported that on Wednesday 8 October, between the hours of 22:00 and 23:30, checks were conducted on Rue de Tétange/Rue Principale in Kayl/Tétange, and on Thursday 9 October, between the hours of 00:30 and 02:00, checks were conducted at the junction of Rue de Differdange and Rue Scheierhaff in Soleuvre.

A total of 291 drivers were subjected to a preliminary breath test, even in the absence of any serious indications. In four cases, the test was positive, and reports were filed or fines were issued accordingly.

No driving licences were confiscated.
