Luxembourg's Ministry of State, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the High Commission for National Protection (HCPN) have announced that a "LU-Alert" test will be carried out on Monday 6 October 2025.

As part of the government’s ongoing strategy to test the LU-Alert public warning and information system, this exercise will include the monthly siren check and a geolocated SMS alert. The test messages are scheduled to be sent at around 11:00 in the municipalities of Rambrouch, Wahl, Grosbous, Mertzig, Feulen, Préizerdaul, Vichten, Redange, Ell, Useldange, Beckerich and Saeul.

This time, the geolocated SMS message will be sent by MeteoLux, in parallel via the LU-Alert mobile application and on the website www.lu-alert.lu.

As this is a test alert, the public does not need to take any action or adopt any specific behaviour.

The authorities also recalled that the LU-Alert system does not operate on a subscription basis. All mobile devices connected to a Luxembourg mobile network antenna at the time the geolocated SMS test message is triggered will automatically receive it.

Additional information and a FAQ section are available on the LU-Alert website.
