The Grand Ducal Police have reported that two suspects were arrested after multiple vehicles were destroyed in a fire in a car park in Bascharage, in the early hours of Tuesday 16 September 2025.
According to the police, shortly after 03:00 on Tuesday they received a report of a vehicle on fire in a car park in Bascharage. Police and fire services immediately attended the scene and on arrival officers discovered that the fire had spread to four other vehicles.
No one was injured in the blaze. However, three of the five vehicles were completely destroyed and the remaining two suffered significant damage.
Initial findings suggested the fire was a result of arson and during their investigation the police located three persons of interest in the area shortly afterwards. Two of them were arrested on the orders of the Public Prosecutor and will appear before the investigating judge on the afternoon of Tuesday 16 September 2025.
