
The Grand Ducal Police have reported two arrests in connection with separate incidents in Luxembourg City and Ettelbruck on Thursday 11 September 2025.
On Thursday afternoon, the police carried out a large-scale operation in Luxembourg City’s station district, focusing on drug and immigration legislation and general police presence. A total of 49 people were checked. A fine was issued for a violation of drug legislation, and two foreign nationals were noted. During the operation, officers observed a suspected drug handover on Rue Joseph Junck. The alleged buyer and seller were immediately apprehended, and cannabis was found in the possession of the suspected dealer. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the latter was arrested.
According to the police, 21 officers and a sniffer dog were involved in the station district operation.
Later that day, in the evening, police in Ettelbruck responded to a report of a man who had threatened and physically assaulted another individual. The suspect was located during a search, and drugs and cash were discovered during a body search. He was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office.
