The Grand Ducal Police have reported that after a short but intensive investigation, a man suspected of involvement in burglary, theft with violence and simple theft was arrested on Wednesday 27 August 2025.

According to the police, the Division for the Repression of Organised Crime (RGB) of the Criminal Police (SPJ), acting on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, made the arrest following an in-depth analysis carried out by the RGB’s analytical unit of all offences for which the individual is suspected.

The intervention took place on Wednesday afternoon at Luxembourg Central Station, in the context of what is termed as an “arrest in the act” relating to burglary/theft by forced entry.

During subsequent searches, numerous stolen valuables were seized, including gold and silver bars, multimedia items and jewellery.

The police have stated that investigations are ongoing in order to clarify any further offences and that the presumption of innocence applies.
