The Grand Ducal Police reported multiple thefts and robberies across Luxembourg in the past 24 hours.

According to the police, several thefts were reported in the capital across the evening of Tuesday 26 August, into the early hours of Wednesday 27 August 2025.

In the late evening of Tuesday, a theft occurred in a bar on Rue Jean Origer in the Luxembourg-Gare district. According to initial information, the offender stole a woman’s mobile phone from her handbag. Officers located and apprehended the suspect during a search. The mobile phone was returned to its rightful owner and the officers recorded the incident in an official report.

Also on the evening of Tuesday, officers received a report of a theft from a vehicle on Rue Glesener in the Luxembourg-Gare district. According to initial information, the offender stole a rucksack from the car. Investigators began enquiries immediately.

Moreover, during the early hours of Wednesday, residents reported a man trying car door handles on Rue de Neudorf in Luxembourg-Neudorf. A police patrol went to the scene and found the man, who showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. Because of his condition and his disturbance of public order, officers arranged for a doctor to examine him before taking him into custody.

The police also reported they had received multiple reports of burglary during the early hours of Wednesday 27 August 2025.

According to initial information, in the early morning of Wednesday, an unknown offender broke a window to enter a single-family house on Rue de Clausen in Luxembourg-Clausen and stole jewellery.

Also in the early morning of Wednesday, burglars entered a bar in Eischen and stole the contents of the till. The owner caught them in the act and the perpetrators fled. Forensic officers examined both scenes; investigators opened enquiries.
