39-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Alzingen Accident

The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a fatal road accident took place in Alzingen on Monday 14 October 2024.

The accident, involving a car and a motorcycle, occurred around 06:20 on Monday on Route de Thionville between Frisange and Alzingen. The emergency services found the 39-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene.

The forensic police were tasked with determining the exact cause of the accident. The road was closed accordingly.

Update: Later on Monday, the police provided an update on the circumstances surrounding the accident. According to preliminary information, the motorcyclist had been driving from Alzingen towards Schlammesté when he lost control of his vehicle while overtaking a bus and fell off the motorcycle. He ended up on the opposite lane where he collided with two oncoming cars driving towards Alzingen. The road was completely closed until shortly after 14:00 for rescue work and the subsequent accident investigations by the forensic police.
