Among the many events held around the world (and in the Grand Duchy) to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the 7 October Hamas attack was a memorial in Luxembourg City.

An estimated couple of hundred people, including local politicians, braved the rain to join this commemorative event at Place de Clairefontaine in Luxembourg-Ville.

The speeches focused on mourning the victims of the attacks, asking for the immediate and unconditional release of the hostages and listing the names of the hostages. The speakers also warned about the resurgence of antisemitism in the western world.

Participants listened to songs and the event closed with the national anthem of Israel (Hatikva).
