On the afternoon of Wednesday 25 September 2024, Luxembourg's weather portal MeteoLux issued a warning for heavy rain on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

A yellow ("potential danger") alert is in place for all of Luxembourg from 19:00 on Wednesday 25 September until 07:00 on Thursday 26 September 2024.

Continuous rain is expected with accumulations of between 18 and 22 l/m² over a twelve-hour period; up to 25 l/m² of rain is possible in certain areas.
