On Wednesday 28 August 2024, Luxembourg's weather portal MeteoLux issued a weather warning in relation to high temperatures on Thursday 29 August 2024.

A yellow heat alert ("potential danger") is in place for southern Luxembourg from 15:00 to 18:00. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 31°C in the Moselle valley and urban areas.
