On Monday 8 July 2024, the City of Luxembourg (Ville de Luxembourg - VdL) announced that it is looking for about 20 trees to decorate the capital during the end-of-year (Christmas) celebrations.
Anyone who has a conifer measuring 8-20 metres and wishing to have it felled due to its height is invited to contact the Parks Department before mid-August 2024 via tel.: 4796-3423 or via email: parcdemande@vdl.lu (accompanied by a photo of the tree in question). The tree must have an "appropriate appearance", characterised by "adequate density and symmetry", and not be surrounded by other trees.
The Parks Department will be responsible for felling and transporting the fir trees free of charge from mid-October 2024 and will then place them in various places in the capital, such as Place d'Armes, Place Emile Mousel and Place Joseph Thorn, with the aim of creating a warm and festive atmosphere during holiday season.
