The Grand Ducal Police have reported that, on Friday 1 March 2024, a pedestrian was injured and a dog was killed in a road traffic accident on the Route d'Arlon in Luxembourg city.
The accident happened at around 16:30 at the junction of the Rue de Reckenthal and the Route d'Arlon.
According to the police, the pedestrian crossed a zebra crossing when the light was green. When he had almost finished crossing the street, a vehicle travelling from the rue de Reckenthal hit the pedestrian and his dogs. While the pedestrian received minor injuries, one of his dogs died at the scene of the accident due to injuries sustained.
The police confirmed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The police confiscated his driving license.
