POST Philately has announced an exclusive Christmas 2023 stamp designed by Luxembourg artist Alain Welter.
Later today, Tuesday 19 December 2023, philatelists, collectors and stamp enthusiasts are invited from 13:00 to 17:00 to the Espace POST Luxembourg-Gare (38 Place de la Gare, L-1616 Luxembourg-Gare) to obtain an exclusive stamp directly with the special philatelic postmark “Joyeux Noël 2023”; artist Alain Welter will also be present for a signing session.
The designs of the 2023 Christmas stamps depict a melting snowman and a sweating Boxemännchen. If the style of Luxembourg graffiti artist Alain Welter makes you smile at first glance, the illustrations subsequently encourage reflection on the consequences due to climate change.
The issue of end-of-year stamps also has a charitable aim: for each Christmas stamp sold, POST Luxembourg pays 10 or 15 euro cents to the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.
The new special stamps are available in the POST Philately online store - www.postphilately.lu, at the philatelic counter (13 Rue Robert Stumper, Cloche d'Or) as well as in all POST Espaces and post offices.
