On Friday 10 June 2022, as part of the celebrations for the 175th anniversary of hydrotherapy in Mondorf-les-Bains, the President of the Chamber of Deputies (Luxembourg parliament), Fernand Etgen, paid a visit to the MONDORF Domaine Thermal.
Accompanied by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the public establishment, Paul Hammelmann, General Manager, Pierre Plumer, and Mayor of the municipality of Mondorf-les-Bains, Steve Reckel, Mr Etgen was updated on the various spa treatments and activities.
He also had an exchange of views with officials, in particular on the situation of the thermal area during the pandemic. Although the health crisis also had a significant impact on the daily life of the thermal estate, those responsible have managed the situation well and all jobs have been preserved. Mr Etgen commended those responsible for the efforts undertaken during the pandemic.
Mr Etgen also inquired about current and future projects. In 2020, the Chamber of Deputies gave the green light for the expansion and renovation of the Domaine Thermal. This is an important step for the thermal centre.
“The thermal domain is today a modern company, which can boast of a long experience. Managers have always known how to make the necessary developments to adapt the center to the times. It is essential that there are centres like this, where people can get wellness services and health care. Prevention is better than cure,” concluded Mr Etgen.
