The Grand Ducal Police undertook a number of breathalyser checks on motorists during the night of Friday 15 October 2021, with a total of 18 tests being found to be over the limit and two driving licences withdrawn on the spot.
In Hobscheid, the police check was in operation from 23:00 on Friday until 00:30. A total of 68 motorists were stopped, with 5 being found to be over the alcohol limit, 1 driver was found to be driving under the influence of narcotics, and no driving licences were withdrawn on the spot.
In Steinfort, the police check was in operation from 01:30 on Saturday morning until 03:30. A total of 35 motorists were stopped, with 3 being found to be over the alcohol limit and no driving licences were withdrawn on the spot.
In Hesperange, the police check was in operation from 22:45 on Friday until 23:45 on the the rue de Gasperich, then on Saturday from 00:45 - 01:45 on the rue de Rollingergrund and on the rue des Aubépines in Luxembourg-ville on Saturday from 02:45 to 03:45. A total of 124 motorists were stopped, with 10 being found to be over the alcohol limit and two driving licences were withdrawn on the spot.
