
Luxembourg's Ministry of State has confirmed that Prime Minister Xavier Bettel has been admitted to hospital and is under medical observation for additional tests after contracting COVID-19.
48 year-old PM Bettel tested positive for COVID-19 on 27 June 2021, two days after attending an EU summit in Brussels, and has been self-isolating since: on Sunday 4 July, he visited the hospital for further testing and analysis.
As a precaution, the Prime Minister, who has received one dose of the Astra Zeneca vaccine on 6 May, will remain under observation in hospital for a period of 24 hours.
