Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works has announced the felling of various trees in Hamm in preparation for the construction of a new sports hall at the National Sports Institute (INS).

From Monday 18 November 2019, various trees will be felled in Hamm. As a compensation measure, the orchard on the site will be rehabilitated.

In addition, a coniferous tree which is in a bad state will be felled as part of maintenance works at the athletics stadium. In this case, compensation will be provided through the planting of new leafy trees and hedges directly in the area. The hedges may improve the current windbreak for the athletics track.

For safety reasons, two trees at risk above the public car park will also be removed.

These works will begin next Monday.
