At the cabinet meeting of the Luxembourg government, held on Friday 31 October 2025, the ministers approved various aspects of Luxembourg's armed forces abroad.
Firstly, the cabinet approved the draft Grand-Ducal Regulation amending the amended Grand-Ducal Regulation of 21 February 2023 concerning the participation of the Luxembourg Army in the Allied Battle Group in Romania as part of NATO's Enhanced Vigilance Activities (eVA), which provides for an increase in the maximum number of military personnel authorised to be deployed to the Allied Battle Group in Romania as part of NATO's Forward Land Forces from 30 to 40.
Secondly, it approved the draft Grand-Ducal Regulation amending the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 31 July 2024 relating to the participation of the Luxembourg Army in the European Union military assistance mission in Mozambique (EUMAM Mozambique) which extends the Army's participation in this mission until 30 June 2028.
It also approved the draft Grand-Ducal Regulation concerning the participation of the Luxembourg Army in the 2026-2027 European Union Battlegroup (EUBG26/27), which authorises the participation of the Luxembourg Army in said European Union Battlegroup for the period 2026-2027, from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.
