On Friday 24 October 2025, the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Cooperation and Foreign Trade reported on the visit to Brussels by the Grand Ducal couple.

The ministry reported that following the accession to the throne, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and Foreign Trade Affairs,  Xavier Bettel, travelled to Brussels for a courtesy visit on Friday with the purpose to strengthen the historical, political and cultural ties that unite Luxembourg and Belgium.

According to the ministry, during this first courtesy visit, the King and Queen of the Belgians received the Grand Ducal couple at the Place des Palais. Following the review of the troops by Grand Duke Guillaume and King Philippe, and the performance of the national anthems, the delegations were presented and the Golden Book signed at the Royal Palace.

The Grand Ducal couple and the Royal couple then continued their discussions during a private lunch at the Royal Palace.

Grand Duke Guillaume then visited the Palace of the Nation, seat of the Federal Parliament, where the President of the Senate, Vincent Blondel, received him for a brief meeting. This was followed by a tour of the hemicycle and the signing of the Golden Book.
