On Tuesday 23 September 2025, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Health and Social Security reported that it had made available hepatitis C medications for nineteen children in Ukraine.

According to the ministry, the medicine consist of weight-adjusted treatments, tailored to the clinical situation of each child. The medicine will be distributed to the patients from several regions of Ukraine, as well as children under care at the National Centre for Maternity and Childhood of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

The ministry noted that the initiative reflected Luxembourg’s commitment to continuing its support for Ukraine and for young patients affected by this disease. 

“Luxembourg reaffirms its solidarity with Ukrainian children and their right to health,” declared Luxembourg’s Minister of Health and Social Security, Martine Deprez.
