EDF, the operator of the Cattenom nuclear power plant in France, has reported that Reactor 1 was reconnected to the electricity network during the night on Sunday 11 August 2024.
On the night of Sunday to Monday 12 August 2024, the teams at the power plant reconnected Reactor 1 to the electrical grid.
The reactor in question had been shut down on 4 May 2024 in order to optimise the fuel contained in the reactor and ensure its availability over the coming winter.
During this shutdown, almost 1,400 maintenance and inspection activities were carried out.
EDF confirmed that the four reactors at the Cattenom nuclear power plant are currently in operation and supplying the electricity network.
