Luxembourg's Ministry of State has reported that Prime Minister Luc Frieden will participate in the informal leaders' meeting of the European Council in Brussels, Belgium on Monday 17 June 2024.

The Luxembourg Prime Minister will first attend a meeting of the European People's Party (EPP) Group (which includes his political party, the Christian Social People's Party - CSV), which will be dedicated to preparing for the informal summit of 27 heads of state and government later in the day.

Following the European Parliament elections held (in Luxembourg and elsewhere) on Sunday 9 June 2024, the EU heads of state and government will discuss the upcoming nominations and designations for the highest offices of the European Union during a working dinner.

The informal leaders' meeting will also discuss the next institutional cycle ahead of the regular European Council on 27-28 June 2024.
