EDF, the operator of the Cattenom nuclear power plant in France, has reported that Reactor 2 was reconnected to the electricity network at the weekend.
Shortly before 10:00 on Saturday 23 September 2023, the teams at the power plant reconnected Reactor 2 to the electrical grid.
The reactor in question had been shut down on Wednesday 20 September 2023 to allow the team to carry out various interventions on a water supply system located in the engine room (non-nuclear part).
EDF confirmed that the four reactors at the Cattenom nuclear power plant are currently in operation and supplying the electricity network.
