Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, announced that rail traffic in both directions from Germany will be disrupted from this Tuesday 23 January 2024 from 19:00 until Monday 29 January 2024.

The CFL noted that due to a strike by the German union GDL (Gewerkschaft Deutscher Lokomotivführer), trains to Wittlich (departure from Luxembourg at 19:10 and 20:10) will be cancelled.

From Wednesday 24 January  2024 and until Monday 29 January 2024 inclusive, no trains will cross the German-Luxembourg border. Until normal traffic resumes on Tuesday 30 January 2024, all trains concerned on this line (Luxembourg – Wasserbillig – Trier) will only run between Luxembourg and Wasserbillig. The number of these trains will also be reduced due to the adaptation of staff and rolling stock during this strike period.

Updated details will be available on the website www.cfl.lu or via the CFL mobile application during this time.
