The Banque Nationale de Luxembourg (BnL, the National Library of Luxembourg) is celebrating its 225th anniversary with the organisation of an event entitled Discovery Days on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October 2023 at its Luxembourg-Kirchberg premises (37D Avenue John F. Kennedy).

The Discovery Days event will allow people to explore the treasures of cultural heritage and the international collections of the country’s largest library, and also discover the BnL's wide range of services, diving into the heart of an institution that has been preserving and sharing Luxembourg’s intellectual heritage for more than two centuries.

The Discovery Days programme includes a tour of the BnL's closed stacks and a Discovery Tour of the Reading Room, allowing participants to have the opportunity to meet staff and engage in inspiring conversations about literature, art, music, culture and science.

The event's special highlight includes exciting presentations of the BnL’s special collections and rare and precious documents that have shaped the country’s history.

Additionally, the BnL is offering short film screenings and workshops: Learn how to make iron gall ink, how to bind books or draw mangas. Workshops on the Luxembourg Web Archive, the BnL's search engine a-z.lu, its selection of digital books ebooks.lu and its VOD offer.
