Credit: Stëmm vun der Strooss
On Thursday 28 March 2024, Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, reported that Kichechef joined forces with Lola Valerius (chocolatier de Luxembourg) in December 2023, to support the activities of the non-profit association.
Boxes of chocolates labelled "LES BONBONS KICHECHEF X LOLA VALERIUS", specially created for this solidarity project, were on sale near the cash registers of the store before Christmas. Customers could purchase beautiful boxes of six different sweets for the price of €15 for a good cause.
The shiny sweets with sophisticated flavours such as "Cajou & Tonka" or "Noisette & Orange Confit" were very well received, as Alexandra Oxacelay, the Director of Stëmm, was presented with a cheque for €5,000. The Kichechef staff also received the chocolates as a gift. The donation was handed over on Monday 25 March at the Stëmm premises in Hollerich, in the presence of Lola Valerius and Mireille Hilgert, the Director of Kichechef.
It's not the first time that Kichechef has been involved in a creative campaign in favour of Stëmm vun der Strooss, the association noted. Also, as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility policy and its slogan since 2019: "Home Sweet Home", the shop organised a solidarity march and sold candles in 2022, actions that raised a generous sum of €10,000 to finance part of the renovation work of the association's social restaurant in Ettelbruck. This time, the donation will finance part of the salaries of the twelve production employees over the age of 50 who are currently following a professional reintegration programme at the various Stëmm vun der Strooss sites.
