From Tuesday 5 March to Wednesday 6 March 2024, Luxembourg’s Minister for Tourism and Minister of Culture, Eric Thill, went on a tourism and cultural mission to Berlin.

The Minister Delegate for Tourism attended the International Tourism Fair (ITB) which is the world's leading trade fair for the travel and tourism industry. Luxembourg is usually present there with a stand organised by Luxembourg for Tourism. The stand promotes the tourist assets of the Grand Duchy while aiming to offer Luxembourg tourism stakeholders on-site opportunities to establish professional contacts.

The partners who participated in ITB 2024 as part of the Luxembourg stand were Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO), Mondorf Domaine Thermal, Voyages Emile Weber, DMC by Sales-Lentz, Sightseeing.lu, Accor, Youthostels Luxembourg, Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA) as well as the Luxembourg School of Hospitality and Tourism (EHTL) whose students provided stand service.

On the occasion of the twelfth edition of the “Tag des barrierefreien Tourismus” (day of accessible tourism) organised at the ITB, Minister Thill presented Luxembourg’s strategy to be at the forefront of “tourism for all”.

“We are continuing our efforts to raise awareness, encourage and support tourism stakeholders in order to emphasise accessible and comfortable offers for all people, especially those with specific needs. Accessibility must be a common thread, an important quality criterion both for residents and for all foreign visitors,” said Minister Thill.

In his capacity as Minister of Culture, Eric Thill met Luxembourg artists and creatives who live and work in Berlin and visited the Michel Majerus Estate and the Hamburger Bahnhof whose reception building houses the Museum of Contemporary Art, which belongs to the National Gallery.
