Details: Buergbrennen – Bonfire Day – is an annual tradition where a wooden cross is set on fire to figuratively burn the spirits of winter and welcome spring. People get together and enjoy gluhwein and grilled sausages and watch the bonfire. Dates and start times vary from village to village, but the event is usually held on a Sunday or Saturday one weekd after Carnival.
