Details: the Blues 'n Jazz Rally 2013 festival which takes place On Saturday 20 July.
The 2013 edition of the festival offers 50 concerts on 12 stages and in 20 cafés and restaurants in the Grund and Clausen. The concerts start 19:00 and end at 03:00, with “nuit blanche” in operation, meaning alcohol can be served until 03:00.
FThe event features jazz and blues with a mix of international stars and local performers, covering jazz, blues, rock, rockabilly, Chicago blues, funk, Boogie-Woogie, reggae blues, Dixieland, New Orleans, mainstream, fusion, new generation, electro and vocal jazz.
The concerts include performances by: Primer, Sean Carney, Yilian Cañizares Ochumare, Gast Waltzing & Largo, B Connected, Jan Gerfast Blues Band, Chino & Big Pet, Jeff Herr Corporation, David Laborier, Lawrence "Shy" Gladney, Nimmo Brothers, Beat 'n Blow, Marly Marques 5tet, Sonido Profundo, Mo'Blow, R.J. Mischo, Chilly Willy, Dr Blues, Remo Cavallini & Band.
This event attracts around 25,000 annually to Luxembourg city. Entrance is free-of-charge, the programme is vast and includes many international performers (Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg, USA, Cuba, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, France, Scotland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, sebia, Ireland, Austria, Trinidad), and the natural and historical setting of the Grund and Clausen make this event quite exceptional in Europe.
In total there will be 250 musicians performing along a 6.7km stretch which will also have 50 catering stalls and 130 security guards.
A free navette bus service will operate every 10 minutes between 19:00 and 03:00 linking the Glacis P&R, Clausen and LuxExpo. In addition, the City Night Bus CN1 will operate every 15 minutes between the P&R Bouillon and Clausen between 22:00 and 03:30. All traffic to the Grund and Clausen will be prohibited between 18:00 and 04:00, with the Tour Jacob bus stop being out of service from 18:00 fro Line #14 which will be diverted through Neudorf.
