The Indian Association Luxembourg (IAL) has announced that it will celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2026 with a special community event taking place at the Hôtel de Ville in Esch-sur-Alzette on Sunday 14 June 2026.
Organised in partnership with the Embassy of India in Brussels and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the event will be held under the theme "Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom & World Peace" and aims to bring together people of all ages and backgrounds for a morning dedicated to yoga, wellbeing, mindfulness and community.
According to the organisers, the programme will begin at 09:00 with a welcome session, followed by opening remarks from representatives of IAL and the Indian Embassy. Participants will then be introduced to the yoga instructors before taking part in a warm-up session.
The event will feature two guided yoga sessions, scheduled from 10:10 to 11:00 and from 11:10 to 12:00, with short breaks in between. The programme will conclude with a final Mandala activity and closing remarks from IAL.
In addition to the yoga activities, attendees can look forward to music, singing and a shared community experience designed to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Traditional Indian food will also be available at the end of the event.
The organisers noted that both beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome to participate.
The event is free of charge. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats.
