On Tuesday, the INDR held the 18th official ceremony of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) "Socially Responsible Enterprise" label at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
On this occasion, the CSR label was officially awarded to 38 companies that have successfully met the criteria of the INDR (national institute for sustainability and social responsibility) labelling process.
In his welcome speech, Tom Oberweis, Vice-President of the INDR and UEL and President of the Chamber of Trades, welcomed the fact that there are now nearly 170 CSR-labelled companies in Luxembourg.
Special guest Paulette Lenert, Minister of Consumer Protection and Minister of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, congratulated these companies for assuming their responsibilities daily in Luxembourg and beyond. Indeed, CSR is considered an opportunity for every company to improve its governance, strengthen its societal commitment and limit its environmental impacts. The company ensures its own sustainability while contributing to sustainable development. Minister Lenert added: "In terms of CSR, the trip is worth as much as the destination".
Companies with the CSR label have understood the benefits of CSR, which offers real competitive advantages by improving the company's reputation, its ability to attract and retain employees or customers, the commitment, motivation and productivity of its employees, and relations with suppliers, public authorities, competitors, the media, NGOs, in other words with the society in which companies operate.
Norman Fisch, Secretary General of the INDR, recalled that all CSR-certified companies have achieved the objectives formulated in the CSR Guide, thus ensuring responsible behaviour.
On this occasion, six companies renewed their label for the fourth consecutive time, whilst twelve companies received the label for the first time. Among the newly labelled companies was, for the first time, a secondary school: Lycée Technique d’Ettelbruck. A total of 26 companies renewed their label.
