Details:  The 12th international Conference on Data Integration in the Life Sciences 2017 (DILS2017) is to be held in Luxembourg on 14 & 15 November 2017, organised by the University of Luxembourg and Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).

The DILS conference aims to promote research and innovation in data and knowledge integration, sharing and exchange in the domain of life sciences. The notion of life sciences is expansive including the domains of biology and bioinformatics, biomedical data, medical data, environment data, and clinical and health information.

Researchers, informaticians, students and entrepreneurs from biology, medicine, computer science and engineering, and clinical informatics are invited to share their knowledge and experience.

The topics to be addressed include:

* Life Science Data Modelling   - "Big Data" infrastructure   - Data integration systems   - Data models and standards   - Ontology and its evolution   - Architectures and data management techniques

* Analysing, Indexing, and Querying Life Sciences Datasets   - Linked Open Data   - Machine Learning   - Query formulation, processing and optimization * Annotating, Matching, and Sharing Life Sciences Datasets   - Data annotation and maintenance   - Ontology and Schema Matching

* Privacy and Provenance of Life Sciences Datasets   - Ethical, legal and social issues   - Data owner sensitive data sharing   - Privacy-preserving data integration and management   - Sharing, updating and propagating data

The event will be chaired by Marcos DA SILVEIRA, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, Cedric PRUSKI, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, and Reinhard SCHNEIDER, University of Luxembourg.

The keynote addresses will be delivered by Robert Stevens, University of Manchester, and Alex Bateman, EMBL-EBI.
