On Thursday 2 June 2016, HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke and Minister of Labour, Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Nicolas Schmit, were present for the award ceremony for the first "Fit4Coding" training at the NumericALL premises of Technoport Esch-Belval.

The "Fit4Coding" training is based on the methodology of "WebForce3", which trains web developers and integrators within a time frame of 490 hours. The conclusion of the first training course has seen 16 people receive their certificates.

At the ceremony, Minister Schmit emphasised the need for innovative training to meet the skill requirements demanded by the Luxembourg economy, equally highlighting the benefits for society to allow strongly-motivated jobseekers, capable of following a very intense training, to join a rapidly expanding sector.

Meanwhile, Director of the Agence pour le développement de l'emploi (ADEM), described the preselection of the 13 jobseekers able to follow this intensive training as painstaking work. She pointed to the 99% attendance rate as testament to the commitment to the project of the candidates, all of whom have obtained dual certification as web developer and integrator. Although ADEM general takes stock of the training results after six months, Isabelle Schlesser stated that the situation was encouraging, with more than 40% returning to work after only two months.

Yves Lepage, CEO of NumericALL, welcomed the close cooperation developed with ADEM and thanked the companies who have expressed their support for this initiative by participating in meetings with students, by providing mentors for individual monitoring and by hiring the first graduates.

The second training cycle is underway and is set to conclude in late July. ADEM has shortlisted 18 participants for their levels of motivation and commitment. HRH the Hereditary Grand Duke attended one of the classes in the second training cycle and met with the first individuals certified with the "Fit4Coding" training.
