The Luxair Group has published its rsults for 2017 which show a 7% passenger growth in airline numbers, a 20% growth in services and a 14% growth in cargo tonnage carried.
Luxair Luxembourg Airlines & LuxairTours
In 2017, Luxair Luxembourg Airlines carried an increase of 7% of passengers, while LuxairTours recorded + 9% of passengers departing from Luxembourg. In total, almost 2 million passengers were transported.
This increase is due, among other things, to the increase in capacity with the delivery of an additional Q400 aircraft, the 11th of the Luxair fleet; the development of new routes and the adaptation of frequencies and products to customer needs.
LuxairServices
LuxairServices, the handling agent at the Luxembourg airport, witnessed in 2017 3.6 million customers in transit, a growth approaching 20% compared to 2016.
Luxair Catering produced and delivered almost 2.2 million meals, a more than 6% inccrease.
LuxairCARGO
LuxairCARGO achieved a record year in 2017 at all levels:
- Record year at the tonnage level with 938,000 tonnes of processed goods (+ 14% versus 2016)
- Record tonnage month with 89,720 tons (November)
- Record tonnage week with 21,693 tons (week 47)
- Record tonnage year at the Pharma Center with 31,000 tons
